The Physical Toll Jobs Take on The Body
Imagine if you could see someone's pain. Those sore aching muscles, the pulled, strained ligaments and tendons. If the pain showed through the skin in color, you would be horrified at the pain levels most of us walk around with every day. What some deem as “my normal ache” or “it's just part of getting older” is truly astounding and honestly, unnecessary.
I say unnecessary, because with self care and awareness, these pains don't have to be considered normal or even acceptable.
Stress from work, what's considered a regular job, can be a huge factor. You don't have to lift heavy equipment or be a stunt double for your body to become stressed and painful. Hairdressers for example, may have to stand in awkward positions all day to achieve those fabulous cuts. Admin/desk jobs, requiring someone to sit all day, limited times allotted to get up, stretch and walk around, creates compounded pressure on the back and legs.
Any job that causes you to hold a static position for any significant amount of time, will build up stagnation in the blood flow which accumulates in the muscle, causing pain. This action also creates an inflammatory effect within the body; combined with the chronic stagnation, the ligaments strain to hold the static positions, thus compounding the issue.
Excessive strain on the body increases the heart rate, blood pressure, reduces flexibility, interrupts sleep patterns seriously effecting our health overall. We find we are left with chronic aches, headaches and pains that we consider to be normal, due to normal static patterns created for us on a daily basis.
This does not have to become normal. Therapeutic Massage and Reflexology are both excellent ways to relieve the stress we have unwittingly forced on our bodies from daily static positions and stagnation.
Treatments release toxins and metabolic waste built up within the muscles, providing an overall sense of relaxation and wellness. They also reducing the heart rate, blood pressure, increase flexibility, reduce the agitation and stress that comes with it; all while providing an alternative healing method without drugs.
Reflexology can attend to those deeply strained ligaments and tendons that have long caused stress on the body as a whole; allowing the body to align properly, without the strain. The procedure also addresses all the pressure points for the organs in the body, stimulating proper flow and function. (who doesn't want to function better overall?)
Releasing the stagnation within the body increases the blood flow, promotes relaxation, proper organ function, flexibility within the body, improves those interrupted sleep patterns, thus improving the overall health of the client.
These holistic treatments are fitting for a wide variety of clients. From person that has lived with an over strained body, creating those chronic aches to the person that is trying to recover from a stroke or struggling with arthritic pain, to the runner that compounds pressure on the body, or from the job that we don't realize that creates so much body stress; all these people can find relief from their pain with self care. Becoming aware that you can find ways to release the pain and discomfort while increasing your overall health is an empowering thing.
